Each user can break off the session at will, by a simple press of a “Next” button. As soon as a session is closed by any user, a new session is started. Participation in WebcamChatroulette is simple. Make sure a webcam is available and active, and surf to Webcam Chatroulette. At the site, press “Next”, to have the site set up a first webcam chat session. Press “F9″ and the connection will be canceled ,and a new connection is automatically set up. I requirement an HD webcam with at small 720p so I crapper dispense broad calibre vids of me activity bass and place them on youtube. I’ve been hunting around and the Microsoft Lifecam looks pretty good. Any suggestions on what I should get? Nothing over 0 please.

I just got a laptop and I am looking through it to get use to it before college. I ended up getting a hp pavilion with a webcam…but not sure how to use it
So I was wondering if you guys have any step by step set up on how to use it?

I’m starting a business webpage that will link to Youtube videos. I’m sure a decent one is around 50-75 bucks. I need a built in mic, and good picture quality. I’ve seen some nice ones from Microsoft (Lifecam series) and also Logitech and HP. Anyone out there used different webcams and can tell me what to look for?
Please give me actual models (not just the minimum specs to look for) so I can compare before I purchase. Don’t really want to spend more than if I can help it.

I have an old webcam that is no longer supported by Logitech. It will run on anything up to XP just fine and some people can get it to work on 32-bit versions of Vista and Windows 7, but 64-bit is a no go. I downloaded the Windows XP Mode and I can get that to detect the webcam and work fine while I have the virtual PC running. However, if I close out of it and run the capture program in XP Mode (without the entire virtual PC running) it won’t detect the cam since it’s no longer attached the virtual PC.

My question is this: Does anyone know how I can keep the camera attached to the virtual PC and use it with messengers from my actual OS instead of only inside the virtual?

My webcamera is : Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 model #: 1355 Its kind of odd. when i open up the Lifecam program it does work,it just doesnt let me take pictures,or record audio etc. i have not got any error messages of any sort. The camera also works when i use Skype…I just want to capture pictures

Im writing because i have a little problem to configure my Webcam.
Im using a notebook with an incorporated camera, the problem is that it seems to be detected ( lsusb here ):

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0402:5602 ALi Corp. Video Camera Controller

… and configured in /dev/video0

It seems to be the ALI 5602 … the driver is: gspca_m5602

After 8 months of searching the web, Im not found a solution for this problem … PAckard Bell EasyNote Model MX765

When I try to start using the camera ( like Skype, aMSN or Kopete ) the indicator led of the webcam turns on and seems to work but nothings happend, shows no picture …

Testing with de IM program Kopte the webcam led turns on and I only able to see a large green screen, once again … NO PICTURE, NO WEBCAM …

Apparently the camera its accessible because of the led … but im really frustated with this … please i need help …  …

Im running openSuse 11.2. Help would be appreciated!!
